Thank you for visiting our website to learn more about
the North Little Rock School District.

We are the eighth largest school district in the state with
9,100 students but encompass only 34 square miles which
allows us to have a small community connection with our patrons.

The North Little Rock School District is continuing to make
positive progress towards meeting its vision,

“World Class Schools for World Class Students.”

The District has been and will continue implementing those strategies
that focus on providing all students with the education they need in order
to become productive and responsible citizens. We offer a solid academic
program and were the first public school district in Arkansas to be authorized
to offer the world recognized International Baccalaureate Program.

Our 2010 graduates accepted scholarships in excess of $4 million not
including the lottery scholarship awards. Our extracurricular programs allow
students to develop confidence, leadership, and a sense of school spirit. All of
our teachers meet the highly qualified teacher requirements and over fifty
percent have a Master’s Degree or higher. Fifty-two teachers have attained
National Board Certification.

Whether our students choose to further their education or enter the
workforce, the North Little Rock School District will provide the tools they
need to be successful.

I am proud of the commitment and dedication of our employees and our many
volunteers. Many challenges still exist, but I am confident that the North Little
Rock School District
will continue to offer all children the quality education they
need to pursue their dreams.

Kenneth A. Kirspel
Superintendent of Schools
